Shooting Stars Synchro
In 2001, Shooting Stars Synchro began as a summer recreational program sponsored by Stony Creek Swim Center in Noblesville. By July we had held our first figures competition and a routine exhibition. Excitement for the new sport attracted new swimmers and coaches. With five coaches and 17 swimmers, the Shooting Stars became a competitive team — the second in Indiana and now the largest. By the end of the second season, Shooting Stars Synchro had 29 swimmers. The 12-13 age group team qualified for the Esynchro U.S. Age Group National Championships held in Gainesville, Fla. where they placed 16th out of 36 teams. The 11-under "A team" won the Midwest Fun Meet in Toledo, Ohio. By the end of the third season, Shooting Stars had more than 30 swimmers in three age groups. Both 12-13 teams and the 14-15 team along with multiple solo, duet and trio groups qualified for the Esynchro U.S. Age Group Championships. The experience has helped our swimmers become stronger and more confident. 2005 — Our fourth season, At the Midwest Invitational for 11Unders and 12-13s the 11Under-A team placed 1st in team, trio, duet and solo and figures. The 12-13 team placed first in solo, duet and figures and second in team, second and fourth in trios. The Shooting Stars, with 38 swimmers, participated in Intermediate, Age Group and Jr./Sr. competitions. In all levels, we had multiple duets, trios and solos along with 4-8 member teams. Beating the statistical odds, with an outstanding performance at Age Group Nationals, both our 12-13 and 14-15 teams finished 10th in the Nation in Buffalo, NY. In 2006 — Our fifth competitive season, Shooting Stars has five age-group teams 11U Bubbles, 2-11U A team, 12-13 team and 14-15 team. Our team growth this season has us excited about the possibilities and opportunities of a new season. |
